I am registered as a research student with the Department of Information Science at Loughborough University. My start date was 1 December 2007 and I aim to complete by 2012.
My main supervisor is Dr Louise Cooke, who was my tutor on the MSc Information Science at City University whilst I was there in 2005-06. In fact, I followed Louise to Loughborough (metaphorically, as I am still based in Essex) because I liked working with her, and as she had also completed her PhD part-time Louise would be well aware of the difficulties it entails. And subsequently not tolerant of excuses!
The current second supervisor is Dr Anne Goulding.
This is a self-funded project and I am a part-time student. I have a full-time day job as a research librarian for the London office of a US law firm (more information about that is on my other blog, Uncooked Data). And I work at a distance from Loughborough – supervision meetings are mostly phone conferences held during my lunchbreak, with only one or two trips to the actual campus.

Hi Sara
do be in touch re the churches and web sites/ I developed a programme for all churches to have both a scaleable domain presence for every town and a templated web structure so that most churches could just jump in with minimal information or technical competence on the part of their PCCs or paid clergy 8 years ago. It fell on deaf ears – however I am chair of the Advisory Board for a new initiative which is taking chaplaincy out into the work space. I would be really interested in assisting with the investigation s you are undertaking in your research – as its outcomes could be really helpful to the wider church and the communities they serve.
